Application Support

CrossOver is a fantastic tool; using CrossOver on a supported application is, in our (admittedly biased) opinion the very best way to run a Windows application on Mac OS X or Linux. However, the reality with Wine is that it is not yet perfect, so there are often times when an application you need is not supported, or a feature you need does not work perfectly.

The most important thing we want you to remember is that we can make anything work, and that is the reason we are here. Now, obviously, there are often times when the cost for us to make your application work simply doesn't make sense, and so an alternate solution may be more appropriate.

Typically, the challenge in assessing an application support engagement is in finding out what problems in Wine you need fixed, and then estimating how much that will cost - that then provides the information we jointly need to determine if such an engagement makes sense.

The critical factor in this process is on your side. We will happily knock ourselves out making your application run well enough that you can realistically assess it (see our "Kick The Tires" engagement for more information). But we rely on our customers doing a careful, thorough evaluation of the end result and providing us with a specific and complete list of issues that need resolution. From there, we can provide you with a time and cost estimate to resolve the issues. Further, we will often add in a cautionary 'pad' to our estimates, as we almost always find that one fix will uncover another set of problems.
