Proof Of Concept

One of the most exciting parts of the CrossOver technology suite is the ability for us to take a Windows application and "wrapperize" it into a native Mac or Linux application. The result is a proof-of-concept app that is ready to be installed and run the target operating system. Even if the application does not yet run at commercially acceptable levels (and it probably won't at this stage of the game), it still gives a good feel for what the final result of an actual Wine port will be, at least in terms of the end-user experience for installing it and getting to the initial screen. This can be a very effective internal tool for selling the notion of a full-fledged port.

Wrapperizing is fast, too. Typically, if we've successfully "Kicked the Tires" and gotten the application to at least install and load, we can develop a proof of concept in a matter of a day or two.
