Chapter 5. Using the CrossOver Client client

There are several ways to access the Windows applications installed by CrossOver. In general, you should be able to use the applications using the same methods that you would use for any other applications.

Running Windows applications from the menu

On most operating systems and desktops, the client installation process will add links to your application menu. On KDE you will be able to run CrossOver applications from the "K" menu, on GNOME by clicking on the "foot", in RedHat 8 by clicking on the hat, and in CDE from the front panel.

Windows applications (Word, Excel, etc.) will appear in your Windows Applications menu. Additionally, you will have entries for two CrossOver-specific applications, ClientSetup and Terminate CrossOver Office Processes.

If no menu entries are created, you should still have the option of running applications from the command line. You may be able to associate these command-line options with the menu yourself, using whatever menu-editing tools are provided by your particular system.
