Failed to Initialize (aka Tcl/TK failure) in CrossOver Mac 6.1
The most common reason this happens is that you have installed a third-party version of the TCL library (or perhaps, it was installed as part of some other software package). The TCL library that you installed is PowerPC-only and cannot be used by Intel-native programs such as CrossOver. Furthermore, its presence on your system prevents CrossOver from finding the Intel-compatible TCL library that is built into Mac OS X.Note that this may happen to you even if CrossOver Mac 6.0 worked for you.
CrossOver Mac 6.0 had a work around for this issue, and CrossOver Mac 6.1 has a bug
in which that work around does not work. CrossOver Mac 6.2 and later should again
have a good work around.
To fix this, use the Finder to open your boot drive and the Library folder within that. Rename the "Tcl" folder you find there to something else, like "Tcl backup". Now, try CrossOver again.
If that was not the issue -- for instance, if you don't have a "Tcl" folder in the Library folder on the boot drive or if CrossOver still doesn't launch after you rename it -- we'll need more diagnostic information to figure out what the problem is. Please open a ticket so we can help you to find the problem.
