If your World of Warcraft hangs "Downloading updated tools" you can
just the WoW.exe, not the launcher itself. There are a variety of ways
to do this; one way is to use the 'Run a Windows Command' utility in
your menu (aka cxoffice/bin/cxrun), pick your WoW bottle, and drill
down until you find Wow.exe. You can also do:

   cxoffice/bin/wine --bottle <your-bottle> --cx-app wow.exe
