I got a no-go on this game for mac, because of a Prism3d.exe error.

Me too. I cant seem to get anything to run with this crossover program because of similar errors

Unfortunately the original poster here hasn't gone to enough
lengths to explain the situation wrt the disc based version of
this app, hence the disappointment/confusion being experienced.

So...allow me -- the disc based version of this title incorporates
a DRM copy protection mechanism. Due to the design on the Mac OSX
scsi drivers, these systems do not work on the Mac (and many don't
work in linux either even though the linux scsi driver does allow
direct scsi access to the CD/DVD drive) - to read more about this see;

As such, if you live in a country where your government allows the
circumvention of such DRM mechanisms, you can legally apply an
unofficial patch to get the disk based version running. However,
due to DMCA laws and regulations in the US that apply to the content
on the Codeweavers website, it is -illegal- to expound upon those
measure in the C4 forums....see Jeremy White's posting here;

That all said, there are digital download versions of this title
available that will not be subject to the disc based DRM problem
that causes so many headaches...see;

They -may- still have DRM incorporated into the digital download
releases, however because it's not disc based it bypasses the issue
of needing direct hardware access to the CD/DVD drive and most of
the time (90% or better), the digital download versions will work
on both Mac/linux due to this fact.

I hope this clarifies the issue for you, not only with this title,
but also with regards any other CD/DVD distributed games you might
have that aren't working....ie; it's likely to be disc based DRM
causing your problems (in the case when such is used).

Not exactly...what I'm saying is the disc based version won't work due to the form
of DRM used, but the digital download versions may well work because they are unaffected
by that aspect. It's reasonable to assume (but not 100% conclusive) that if the CD version
of the game works, the digital download versions -should- as well : it's the same game
software afterall, just with a different DRM mechanism involved. That said, there are
no guarantees...ie; some titles work in linux and not on the Mac (or conversely so) due
to intrinsic OS differences...so it's impossible to guide you here with total surity.

You can now checkout the demo versions of these 18 Wheels titles from ValuSoft ..see;

I'm reasonably sure the demo versions are the full versions, just time limited. That
being so, I just did a crosstie install profile for this title (should be online
Monday or such) which works fine - so does the game =)

This version works on CrossOver 12. I have changed the download link in the CrossTie because it was out of date. There is no need to do anything other than what the installation tells you.
