Uplay won't launch games

Hi I managed to install and Uplay just fine. But now when I download games and install them through it, they won't start. Am I missing something? Does it an extra program in the background? The weirdest thing is, I have Anno 1701 History Edition and the world editor works just fine. But the game says it can't be started.

I don't think this is an issue with uplay then, but with whatever game you're trying to run.
