I finally have version 4.5 working. It's laggy but usable. .net 4.0 is required.
I was getting random crashes when authorizing or downloading a book. Removal of l_intl.nls from the system32 folder seemed to fix this.

Works for me. Slightly laggy on the downloads, but fully functional. I'm using Opensuse Leap 42.2 and Digital Editions 4.5.
