I downloaded AOE:DE back in July and had it running fine on Codeweavers/Crossover. I tried booting it up again this week and it crashes each time. Sometimes the load screen just stalls out. Other times it seems to launch the game, but then it suffers a major crash, prompting a bug report.
I tried re-downloading/installing the game on Steam, but no luck.
Got it working today with the following changes...
Initially it breaks with an exception when launching the game, so I went to the Steam app and opened the Properties of the game. In it I disabled Steam Overlay as well as Desktop Game Theatre in the General section.
Starting and playing the intro campaign is working quite well for me now (Intel Mac, CrossOver 22.0.1).
