Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery Forum

Hi everyone

I had to take additional steps to fix the black screen issue when starting the game (sound was there). You need to change to DirectX in a ini-file, as described over at winehq: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=9887

After that it works.

The two files to edit the DirectX options are:

~/.cxoffice/Anno_1404_Dawn_of_Discovery/drive_c/users/crossover/Application%20Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404Addon/Config/Engine.ini

~/.cxoffice/Anno_1404_Dawn_of_Discovery/drive_c/users/crossover/Application%20Data/Ubisoft/Anno1404/Config/Engine.ini

The instructions above worked for me on my M1 Mac! - to save people clicking links... you need to edit the Engine.ini file to be as follows:

<InitFile>
    <QualityLevel>1</QualityLevel>
    <DirectXVersion>9</DirectXVersion>
</InitFile>

it worked for me too. M1 mac
