It is dutch but it's says that the program AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe has a sirious problem and must be shut down.
How can i get it working?
Thanks Remco

Hi,

Have you tried following the tips&tricks here?

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=4189;tips=1

My guess is you need the d3d9_36.dll business + the registry keys for Direct3D

The direct3d key values however may not be correct for your setup - it will
depend on what videocard you have fitted?...

Cheers!

Hello,
I have a NVIDEA GeForce 9400M.
And i have downloaded the .dll where can I put it?

Greets

I have snow leopard

Hi,

It is easier just to install directx runtime modern into the same bottle.

Cheers!

I think it is to difficult for me so if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
Thnx for help.
Remco

Hi,

Yes, I can see you're having difficulty here...and by the look
of it many of those tips&tricks have merely been lifted from WineHQ
and make it appear more difficult than it is wrt crossover. A good
example is copying the dll file into place -- doing that might save
a few 10's of megabytes of diskspace, but it's not as easy as just
installing the directx runtime target already built into crossover 8)

-#!!HOWEVER!!#-

...with the introduction of the C4P system wrt CXG-9.0 release, and
looking at all the info here and over at WineHQ about this title (I do
not have/own it myself), I have enough data here to create a 'skeleton'
c4p for this title that would automatically install the directx runtime
and do all the registry settings for you automatically...hmmm....as a
matter of fact, I nearly have enough data to install the whole thing
via a c4p recipe....are you interested? If you can answer the following
questions for me, I am confident the C4P system can do the rest;

1. How much videoram does your 9400M have?

2. On what media is the installer? CD/DVD? Other?

I really need an answer to 1. above to tailor the c4p file to your hardware.
If the installer is not on CD/DVD just let me know, that's no big deal here.

...I have it from on high (our most Considerate Ninjas) that for a c4p recipe,
we don't pick out individual dll files like winetricks does, so the c4p will
do the full directx runtime install...just so you know 8)

I want you to play this game if at all possible, and I want that to be easy
for you (and anybody else) to do with crossover...I think I can with the PoWaH
of C4P ...... please get back to me here, I'm keen to help and currently
giving the C4P system a really good a really thorough work out 8)

Cheers!

PS: If the c4p file I cookup for Johan works 'as expected' (and I've no reason
to doubt that it won't), I'll hoist it into the C4P Editor profile here so that
someone who actually has the title can fill in the other tags that I cannot ('coz
I don't have it 8)

Hi,
I have 512 MB vram
And it is on a DVD

Greets,
Remco
p.s. i can take a look at c4p, but i am not a computer"hacker" but just a person who wan't to get it work ;p

Hi,

@Johan - Check your mail....that should be somewhere in the ballpark.
It might need a bit of tweaking, but as a 'skeleton' it's good.

[all]

I've uploaded that skeleton into the C4P Editor here if anyone
wants to add to it/finish it off. The critical fields currently
missing (you need the game installed to get these values) are;

<installedkeypattern> 'value' </installedkeypattern>
<installeddisplaypattern> 'value' </installeddisplaypattern>

Non-critical (optional) fields are expansion to <installnotes>
if required and/or additional installnotes in your own language.

Current c4p skeleton turns emulated desktop ON @ 1024x768 - that may
or maynot be desirable. New mouse registry hack not used.

Cheers!

Hey here's the key pattern could you up the C4P so i could test??

Would it be easier just to uninstall the bottle, or dx9 from the bottle, and create a new bottle with dx9? Mine works fine...

On linux that is...

It ran very well under a vista bottle, even with a mediocre graphics card; I had a 9300 GS that I scavenged from a computer store dumpster and revived it.

Hi!

I think I have the same problem as Johan - when i try to start AC the error message appears, and when i exit that, there's just a white screen. No intro or anything.

My computer is a brand-new MacBook (unibody) with 2,4 GHz, intel core 2 duo, 2GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics.

I tried doing some of the stuff on the Tips and Tricks page, but when I tried copying the .dll file into the system32 folder it said a newer version of the file already exists and asks if i want to replace it with the other one. Am I supposed to say yes to that?
As for the whole white screen/regedit thing, I tried that, although I have no idea if I did it right. Whatever I did it didn't change anything when I tried to start the game, so ...

I don't really understand all the stuff Don said, since I don't really have any experience with this stuff.

Does anyone know what to do? I'd really love to play the game. Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to help! :)

Hi,

Nobody has actually signified whether the C4P profile works or not. I don't actually
have this title, so I can't check it myself -- that said, the C4P profile I did (thanks
to the help of others here ;) has been downloaded over 200 times and I've not fielded
any complaints about it...I presume it's working ok.

If you are using Crossover Games 9.x you should try the C4P profile to install the game
(you don't need to follow the tips&tricks in this case) - if you don't have the later
version 9.x of Crossover Games, what version exactly are you using?

Cheers!

Hi Don! Thanks for helping!

So, I tried re-installing the game, and this time I am actually able to open it, but then it crashes after this movie-sequence/intro which is shown before you get to the actual menu. It seems the mouse isn't working properly, but you're able to get around by the keys, so I got to choose the "new game" option, whereafter the game starts loading and then crashes. The same error-message as Johan posted a screenshot of then appears. ("The program AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe has encountered a serious problem and has to shut down.)

I just bought Crossover Games, so I have the 9.2 version.

There is a thread about the game crashing after the intro too, so I guess I should go over to that one. If you have any idea what to do, it would be much appreciated!

I hadn't actually expected an answer so soon when I asked for help here - so thanks for that too!
