I'm running an i7 iMac with an ATI Radeon HD 5750 GPU running 10.5.6 and this game installs fine, looks great, not a single menu slowdown....but it crashes before you can run a race, shame, I was so looking forward to this after the recent Steam sale!

I would imagine the Steam version installed Physx as part of the first
start operation? A Steam bottle already has directx9 installed, but
by default we use the builtin dinput.dll I think, not the native version...
so I'd probably try that route first...ie;
WINEPREFIX=/path/to/Steam/bottle winetricks dinput
...or such'n'similar.
