doesn't recognize cd for play

Install went fine but when I try to play, it asks me for the CD. The CD is in the drive and mounted. I can 'ls' and see th files in it.

I uninstalled and re-installed and made sure I selected Win2K mode. As far as I know I am not running supermount (which someone else had trouble with).

This happened with plain d2, d2 upgraded to 1.10, with LOD, and LOD upgraded to 1.10.

I'm running gentoo (2.6.9-gentoo-r4) on a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop.

Actually, I'm doing a clean re-install now and I remember I do get the "Expat.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Gthr_key_ptr" error which is addressed in

http://www.codeweavers.com/site/support/docs/crossover-standard/troubleshooting#GENTOO-PERL

and says I need to compile perl with threading support.

Seems unlikely to be the cause of the "Insert CD" problem when trying to play, but what do I know?
