Diablo III Forum

So I got past all of the authentication issues on Ubuntu 12.04 amd64, and now I'm running into an issue where the game freezes when I hit the "Start Game" button, following character creation. No error messages or any output what so ever. I tried logging into general chat before hand, but that made no difference. I haven't read about this issue anywhere else, and was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I'm using an AMD video card btw.

Well I guess I'll rate this as a bronze under 11.1 seeing as it runs but is unplayable for me. I don't know if this is an Ubuntu issue or not.

You could run with the environment variable CX_LOG=[path-to-log-file] and see whether it displays any interesting results in the resulting log.

If there's a common 12.04 configuration issue here, we'd love to know.

So I installed a fresh copy of 12.04, this time I used a 32bit install, but I get the same results, game freezes when pushing the start button. The only difference being, that this command now works
echo 0|sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scopeI attempted to set the CX_LOG variable, but I don't get any output. Am I supposed to create a log file, or will it do that for me?
