Current client version

So my game is telling me I do not have the current client version and I have no windows computer to get one as the tips suggest.

Anyone know where I can get a current one?

One assumes you are running PyLotRO to launch the game....

Just go to the tools pulldown, click patch
In the window... click start...

Watch the "dots" scroll by... (short or long time depending upon how far back you need to patch and how big the patch is.)

When "FINISHED, click exit. Enter account and password, login, play.

Yeah I got all the patches before I tried to launch it the first time. Went back after it failed just to make sure. I have all the patches it can find.

i have the same issue, but running patch in pylotro doesnt fix anything, does the patch but says wrong client still

any ideas?

You didn't indicate if this was a "connection failed" error message, or a black screen with a small box containing the error message.

When you run the patch sequence in PyLotRO, do you get the "Connecting to patch.ddo.com:80" messages?

If you are successfully patched, you should get 3 for them, with corresponding "0 bytes to download: 0" messages.

You can run the Patch tool in PylotRO multiple times with no issues.

There are situations (especially where the launcher is patched) where the patch process has to be run multiple times.

It sounds like a file corruption problem, but beyond that, I don't have any ideas. (Assuming you are completely deleting the bottle and the files in Documents/Dungeons.... when you try to re-install.) I do not know how Turbine determines what the "current client" information is. However, it is done by the Turbine Client, not PyLotRO.

In case you didn't notice (It's in Tips&Tricks) ... if the PyLotRO client immediately returns "finished" instead of the "connecting to patch.ddo.com:80" messages, you have a corrupt patchclient.dll file.

Hello thanks for the response, uhm its a black screen with a small box and the error message
and yes i do get the connecting to patch.ddo.com:80 with the 0 bytes to download 0 messages
ive tried replacing the patch
theres not much more i could figure out.. is it maybe a crossover issue?

im trying to download an old client of ddo with wine then patch that to an upgrade to see maybe if that helps..

I used the patch from your site, to replace the one i had and it was the same thing.. so i assume it must be either something im doing wrong or something wrong with my whole download..even though ive done this twice..

thanks for the help if you have any ideas
tried replacing the patch in drive c/program files/turbin/ddo then removed the patch.dill file , replaced with yours launched pylotro , patched, it worked but then same error on black screen in little box about client version :/

Actually, DDO is crashing CXG outright on an xserver error here. The patch
process seems to complete ok, but like I say, launching the game results
in an immediate crash in CXG -- CXG 10.1.2 ; 11,2 iMac with HD5670 & MacOS
10.7 ....

By comparison. the same DDO patch process worked equally as well in linux,
-and- DDO itself starts fine thereafter.

I'll need to suspect this is Mac centric in nature (and perhaps videocard
or video driver related)

Strange... I'm running DDO and LOTRO with no problems on my 27inch iMac11,3 under Lion and CXG 10.1.2 - ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB

I just patched DDO two days ago and had no problems launching and playing the game.

I'm wondering if it is an X11 artifact issue again.

I seem to recall that the old X11 install from Apple seems to cause problems. I'm not certain if it can be removed "successfully." Or what the solutions were for this one.

I have the current X-code install which includes an "integrated" X11 which is different from the old "stand-alone" X11 install that you used to install under ?Tiger?Leopard? X-Code under Snow Leopard also had that integrated X11.

I don't recall if the X11 thread was under DDO or LOTRO ?last summer? ... I know it was a while back.

This box was a virgin Snow Leopard install and upgrade to 10.6.8 before installing Lion. i.e. not upgraded from Leopard)
I had previously been running it on a 23 inch iMac which also was a virgin Snow Leopard Install.

My MacBook Pro, however, had been upgraded from Tiger to Leopard to Snow Leopard, and I could not get either DDO or LOTRO to run until I finally wiped the disk and did a virgin Snow Leopard install on it. At this point I don't have DDO installed on the MacBook Pro, just LOTRO. But LOTRO runs fine.

..yes...it is strange, but I'm thinking like yourself on this ; something
in the MacOS 10.7 upgrade path has boofled things, and it's confused. I
say that, because unrelated to CXG, I've got some other weird issues with
bluetooth HID (can't see my mouse even though it's working), apparently
the mac's keyboard is throwing strange charaters in IRC, screensaver has
a mind of it's own...and I could go on, but you get the picture =)

Of course. DDO crashing CXG ; that's a first (I've not seen an app do such
a thing on the mac before), and winuae is throwing a wobbly about missing
xlibs, so I figure a wipe clean & reinstall is probably the next venture.

Thanks for the comments btw ... such helps bolster speculation ;)

Cheers!
