It appears that the website which everyone in the world was downloading vcrun2003.zip (www.lotrolinux.com/vcrun2003.zip) is no longer up. Obviously without this the installer cannot run and it's a bit disconcerting that such a dependency which is used for DDO and LOTRO would be referenced from someone's personal website.
..actually, vcrun2003 is only specified for crossover 10.x ;
afaik it is no longer required with crossover 11.x ... still,
the link should be fixed (that's someone else's task)....
Well the installer is no longer working for this so I was assuming it was due to the lack of vcrun2003, but perhaps it is something else. It fails directly after it starts so I never even see the install screen, any thoughts would be appreciated.
It looks like the crosstie file for CX 11 wasn't live until a minute ago - this would force users into installing with the Crosstie for CX 10, which included the Visual C++ 2003 dependency. This has been corrected. If you install DDO using the Crosstie button on the primary page ("Overview" tab) the download and install should be successful.
This fix will work its way into users' copies of Crossover, tomorrow, provided that you've got Crossover set to "always update", or you make a habit of manually updating whenever you're prompted when you launch the Install Software menu.
