Is there anyway we can update the client that eve downloads to a newer one? I only ask because they don't make manual patches for the apocrypha client anymore, forcing a complete reinstall in order to play (unless anyone knows a way around this).

You don't have to let CrossOver download the client itself. You can download the installer yourself, with your browser, and then tell CrossOver to use that file.

Mind you, I can't promise that it will work, but then apparently neither does our current download.

(I have forwarded your request to our ticket system so that it can be directed to one of my colleagues who can update the installer URL we're using.)

'apocrypha' doesn't exist anymore.

the best bet is to download the entire game, Tyrannis (2+gb) because the installer does not seem to work in crossover.

there is also a new patch with Tyrannis (the new Eve), that came out the other day. it may not be in the full download.

crossover will install the patch, after you download it to your hd.
