Using the latest cxgames ubuntu 10.04 64bit. Game runs fine but the sound dies after 20 minutes or so and I have to reload the game. I tried setting sound to emulation under wine settings but then the game will not load.

There is a wealth of information over at wineHQ about this
app, including a supposed fix for sound related issues...see;

Have you tried the winemm.dll.so library mentioned in the sound
fixup hint? If not, give it a go and let us know if it helps any....
