BSD-Linux Compatiability?

I am a Linux user.
I always hear from my friends (BSD Users) that they can run any Linux application I have, without modifying it using a Linux emulation layer.
This should fit the bill correct?

yes and not.

The problem it's the installer of crossover check for some librarys and another things, and don't install on freebsd.

The version for freebsd works.

Sorry by my poor english.
