starts up and can get barly past the cut-screen

it laggis in the first cut-screen and cant get off the train, if i try it just quits out. the same thing happens too the other orange box games
i cant get past the "live-fire" range in portal
and only 1 person a server at a time for TF2

i run macbook at 10.5.7
