Fix for music in HOI and EU

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22255&iTestingId=62912&bShowAll=true

Just install ffdshow - http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=8703

It works out of a box, no configuration needed. Just click proceed or next or smth when installing, don't change anything.

Huge thanks to the guy on winehq!

nice thanks man!

Can I just ask, is there meant to be music when the game is being played?
Because I do have music (Ride of the Valkyries I believe) as the game is loading.
Then, when I choose a scenario, there are sounds when I click on certain icons etc, but no music. Is there meant to be?

Thanks,
Alex

@Alex -- looking at it on the iMac here, what seems to work in OSX is ;

Install directx9 (not the 'modern' target)...
Apply a winelib override for dsound.dll and set it native

...that gets the music working here and it seems stable on 10.7.2 ; the
same trick doesn't help the linux case, where it's still crashing...

Okay, trying it now. Do I have to uninstall the DX Modern?
Also, how do I do the winelib override?

...No, you don't have to uninstall modern...just install the
other DirectX9 target, then launch the Wine Configuration GUI
from the Bottle Manager -> Control Panel ; when the GUI appears,
click on the Libraries tab - look for (or add) dsound to the
list of dll's there, highlight it, click on Edit, change the
setting to native then click Ok -> Apply -> Ok... try the game..

Cheers!

Okay thanks, will get down to trying it tonight-done the override, but dont have time to test the game atm
