Playing music

When I try to play any of the music I bought from itunes I get the following message after it tries to authenticate my username/password:

"This item requires a later version of iTunes to purchase"
"This item requires at least iTunes version 6.0 to purchase"

These are songs I had bought on a windows machine and have stored on an external HD.

Am I missing something?

Evan,

The "official" version of iTunes that works with CXO is 5. Version 5 will not play music that was purchased with iTunes 6. The DRM has changed (well, kinda. More like the enryption keys and some changes in the implimentation of the encryption).

If you have updated to iTunes 6 on your windows box, it will automatically update all of the music you have ever purchased to the newer DRM. As a consequence, your purchased music is no longer playable using iTunes 5
