I found that Activating Office XP over the Internet ceased to work for me on Crossover 8.0 on both Linux and Mac. Installing IE6 into the same bottle as Office XP fixed this problem, and allowed me to connect to the Activation server.

Same problem here (opensuse 11.1). Installing IE6 worked for me too. Thanks for the tip.
