javascript working?

I'm evaluating this product for quicktime support. I installed the plugin and movies play perfectly within firefox. However, the javascript hooks, as documented at:
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/QuickTime/REF/QT41_HTML/QT41WhatsNew-72.html

do not seem to work. A javascript error returns e.g. that the function GetTime() on the quicktime embed object doesn't exist. The same pages work perfectly in windows.

Is this unsupported functionality, or do I have to turn something on?
