Sharpshooter's & CX 4.0

There are some artifacts when the game draws the course,
i'm not sure if this a wine bug or a bug in the game.
I need to play it on a Windows box and see if it does the same thing.
Other than that it play's fine.. This is a full game and not a demo
as this is FreeWare.

If the game crashes on start-up just add

"dmime" = "native"

to your config and it should then start.
If your interesed in testing how well Direct Music is working
this is a good game to do that.

Hey Tom,
I've got the source code to the game if you want it or if that helps. My email is johnkotas@hotmail.com.
Kind regards,
John

Hello John,

I've just tested the game on a Windows XP
system and there are some small black lines
that get drawn when the game re-centers for the next put
is this normal?

These are the same atrifacts that I see when playing
the game with Wine/CX.

In this shot: http://www.codeweavers.com/images/appdb_shots/ss_golf_playing_07-20-2004.png
between the r and 4 you will see a black line.
When the game is re-drawing I get some of these lines..
But after the re-draw is complete the game looks correct.

The game plays just fine btw.. And its one of my favorite games
to play even tho I stink at put-put 😊

Hi Tom,
Yep, those artifacts are pretty much just there. I am moving on to a newer project where hopefully I will become a more thorough programmer. If you haven't already, and are interested, the source is available at http://users.mikrotec.com/msquires. I'm happy you like the game, as it was quite a strenuous project for me at the time, though now looking back it's hard to imagine how exactly I felt while doing it.
As the code is in C it could, with a little effort be moved to apple and such, but that's out of my hands at this point and strictly up to those who are willing to devote time and enjoy challenge. Sound would be a stumbling block as that relies on the MS DirectX interface, but there are easy ways to play MIDI and WAV files across platforms I bet.
Anyway, it's neat to see a screen shot of the thing in LINUX.
