Mac 10.6.8 environment

Recently purchased Crossover, downloaded and installed. Then selected Steam for install from within Crossover's list of programs. Then downloaded SC4 Deluxe.
I was skeptical the game would actually work. Pleasantly surprised. Played for 2 hrs with no problems until SC4 Deluxe crashed. The Steam window was open but nothing worked to regain control of the computer. Ended up hard powering down. All progress in that city was lost. Lesson learned. Any suggestions on how to regain control of the desktop would be appreciated.

Like to say thanks to all the people who work on Crossover and the various applications. I'm amazed you can create an environment, which is multiple layers (OS,Crossover,Steam,SC4 Deluxe in this case), that works. Kudos to all.
