Sins did't install at all

I got this game on the advice of this webpage, and the installer announced success within about 10 seconds. The folder in ~/.cxgames appears to show the proper folders in a regular installation, but they're all empty.

I got the same result trying it with wine, as well.

I was able to get Sins to run by running the installer under Parallels/VMWare and then copying all the application files from the virtual HD to the bottle I was using. I know it isn't an elegant solution, but it did work for me.
