Steam on Linux

I am trying to install Steam on CrossOver Linux 12.1.2, under Fedora 18

Installing steam all seems to go ok until it starts to download the latest update (about 99mb). All goes ok for a while and then it just slows up and eventually seems to get stuck. Not always in the same place - sometimes at 65mb,somtimes 75 and once at 95mb. oh so close.

Anyone got any ideas what's going on?

Thanks

That sounds like a broken connection to the server. Check your net connection and make sure you have a stable and strong (if on wifi) connection before trying to install Steam.

Nothing in Crossover should cause that kind of gradual slowdown in a file transfer. But it sounds just like when a connection is having transmission errors and starts slowing down to try and decrease transmission errors.
