Cannot connect to Steam

I'm having trouble connecting to Steam, and so far, it just appears to be on Crossover. I can connect to Steam on the mac just fine, but all I get on Crossover is the "can't connect to Steam" window upon login. Can someone explain this to me?

Are you possibly trying to log in simultaneously?

No, TF2 is the only game I play often that's workable on Crossover right now. I don't try to log in simultaneously.

So, you can connect to Steam but just able to run TF2 flawlessly?
Or can't you log in to Steam at all?

Apologies, I should have phrased that better; I can't log in at all. I should also add that I was able to play earlier today and that this happened around 8 PM I believe.

Then perhaps it was only a server problem. Is it working again?
Yesterday evening i installed and connected to Steam on Crossover without any problems.

I'm have the exact same issue. I can connect fine in bootcamp and on Steam Mac but not through Crossover which gives the same error as Steven. It's been doing this for a day or so now. Can't remember if I had run Steam at all since I upgraded to 9.0.

I can run Steam on mac, but not on crossover. I have the same problem Jason mentioned, only I'm using Crossover 8.14

I'll try uninstalling Steam and reinstalling it, see if that works.

EDIT: I reinstalled Steam and I'm able to connect now. I'm reinstalling the rest of my games now.

Reinstallation is not required.

This doesn't work for me and I am continuing to have this issue. I have reinstalled steam and it did not work. I reinstalled crossover games and steam and it didn't work. I don't know what to do.

Hi,

Which version of Crossover Games are you running? If you're not
running CXG-9 or better, this would likely be the cause of your
problem -- Steam released an update right about the time CXG-9
was released, and afiak, Steam now only works with these later
releases -- you could always download the demo of CXG-9.1 and
check with that release to ascertain if this is the case or not.

I'm having the same problem as well. Deleted the blob and downloaded 9.1 but I still cannot connect.
