Steam help PLZ!!!

I have the trial version of crossover and i installed steam and firefox into the same bottle and i tried to install the half life 2 demo and when i clicked on the "install demo" button nothing happened so i when to the steam website via windows version of firefox i clicked on the "install demo" button a window popped up and asked if i had steam i clicked yes and nothing happened.PLZ HELP i was going to buy crossover until this happened.
