I have tried installing Steam under first the Crossover demo and now the cxgames demo, and both times it got up to me logging into Steam (with my pre-existing account) and failed to connect to the Steam network. I see no option anywhere for allowing/disallowing a bottle to connect to the Internet, so I assume total lack of access isn't the problem... what could be going on?
Well, the most likely cause is that there's really something prevent access to their servers. Their servers may have been down when you tried. There may have been an issue in the internet somewhere between you and the servers. Or, you may have a local firewall on your network.
