The game boots up fine once you apply all of the patches, but you cannot see the units or buildings. Any chance this can be fixed?

The game boots up fine once you apply all of the patches, but you cannot see the units or buildings. Any chance this can be fixed?
I found that all of the unit models stacked on top of each other at some random point on the map, was very confusing the first time I saw it.
Also the sound did not work at all. No music, unit sounds, or even video sounds.
