You could try installing directx
Was the installation from the C4P file successful? Or did any components fail during the installation? Lack of DirectX could cause a problem of this type, as Paul alludes to, but if the installation was completed successfully from the C4P file DirectX should be present. If you go to Crossover Games' Configure>Manage Bottles menu and check the contents of the Wizard 101 bottle (which you can do by clicking on "Applications" inside Manage Bottles, with the bottle highlighted), you should find "Microsoft DirectX Runtime - Modern", among other packages.
