Horrible Frame Rate

At first I was having lag and skin issues. But after modifying my wtf configuration the skin problems stopped.
Now I'm suffering from really low Frame Rates. Normally i'd usually receive 35 per Frames a second, but now i'm only getting 8-15 FPS...and i've tried knocking all the skins and graphical goodies down to min requirements, but still no luck.

any tips?

Have you tried to add SET gxAPI "OpenGL" in your config.wtf ?

You can also try the config.wtf in the tips & tricks section.

Btw its normal that your framerate will go down a bit.
I'm playing the game with a full load of addons and have only a slight fps change tho.

I'd suggest running the game in vanilla WINE without opengl or the full screen glow. You'll have a hardware cursor, too.

yes, I'm set to open GL.. and the one in the tips and tricks section is the one i'm using.

Well, whats your hardware your running on?

Like i see its a laptop/notebook.

I don't think that you can get much more performance out of it with your current configuration.

You can always add the xorg edgers to your software sources to get the latest updates. This may help a bit.

ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa

ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates

This may help.

I have a ati radeon hd 4650 with 512MB and i'm running it smooth usually, everytime a new driver comes out it gets even better.

I'm not quite sure how to add those

i'm doing linux with cross over as a start to learning to develop for nix.
just cant give up on my crack addiction.

so how do I play with these xorg edgers? and can they push too hard for my hardware?

They won't push your hardware, those are only the hardware drivers you need for your graphics, and every update is better.
its like on windows with your drivers, every release should be better.

ah, good.
I found the site and installed them, not much of a change yet.
but perhaps overtime.

Well, i've noticed a increase in performance from my proprietary ati drivers, since i'm using them they got a nice boost and everything works better.
You can expect more performance from the next crossover releases tho, cause wine is improving really fast now, so every release should give a small boost.

yeah, I'm going to try it on my desktop now. i've got an 3650 ATI
