Deus Ex Tips

The Steam version works on my machine, here's how to make it run:

1. Go to Crossover -> Install Windows Software and select Steam
2. After Steam is installed, install Deus Ex then close Steam and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redist
   in the same bottle
3. Go to Kentie.net and download the Deus Exe archive. This file contains a special launcher that will let you set up a few things to get your game running well. Feel free to read more info on the linked page.
4. Now, go to Crossover -> Manage Bottles -> Advanced, select Browse C: Drive then browse to Program File\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System, rename DeusEx.exe to DeusEx.exe-old then unpack the files from the archive you have downloaded earlier in this folder.
5. Go to the Control Panel tab ,select Wine Configuration, in the window that pops up choose the Graphics tab and check  Emulate Virtual Desktop then choose a resolution. I use: 1280x720, click Apply and OK.
   
6. in the bottle management window select the Bottle tab and click on the Run Command button and browse to: Program File\Steam\steamapps\common\Deus Ex\System\deusex.exe. Run it and select a proper resolution - at the previous step I selected 1280x720 - I selected the same here, 32bit textures and the OpenGL renderer. Press OK
7. Press the Play button on the launcher and you should be able to enjoy your game.
8. Exit the game and press the Create launcher button to create a shortcut to the game launcher
