Whilst I had some issues installing this and Blue Shift, once I had steam installed it was as easy as downloading the game. Steam did the rest. So if you want this (and any of the related Half Life mods or expansions) to work, the easiest way is to do it through Steam. If you have bought the CD already there's an option in the game menu to activate your CD key online.
