Internet Explorer 7 Tips

Fix for IE7 defaulting to runonce3.aspx (Customize Your Settings) page at every start.

DANGER!! You can mess up your bottle (and all applications in that bottle) if you do not know what you are doing.

  1. Launch "regedit" (On Linux: Menu->CrossOver->Run A Windows Command; select your bottle, type "regedit" press Run)
  2. Find the following KEY: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\0\win32\
  3. Change the value data from C:\windows\system32\shdocvw.dll to C:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
  4. Exit the registry
  5. Relaunch IE7 and select your setting.
While I prefer the registry fix the MS KB Article on skipping the runonce3.aspx altogether. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945385
