Lord of the Rings Online Tips

To move LOTRO from one bottle to another

This is  a simple process, done via the Finder in OSX, or a Terminal Window in OSX or Linux.

The instructions are identical... however step by step, they use different commands.
After the two sets of instructions are those to configure PyLotRO

OSX Finder instructions:
1- quit CXG
2- from your home directory, open two Finder windows
3- navigate both windows to <~user>/LIbrary/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles
4- navigate one window to your <new bottle>/drive_c/Program Files/
5- navigate the other window to your <old bottle>/drive_c/Program Files/
In the <old bottle> window, the Program Files directory (folder) should have another directory (folder) "Turbine"
6- In the Finder, drag this "Turbine" directory from "<old bottle> to <new bottle>
7- launch CXG
8- use the pulldown "Configure" - select "Clear and rebuild program menu..."
9- use the pulldown "Programs" - select "PyLotRO" "PyLotRO(<new bottle>)
10- Follow instructions below to configure PyLotRO

OSX Terminal Window or Linux instructions:
1- quit CXG
2- From your home directory, open two Terminal windows
3- navigate both windows to <~user>/LIbrary/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles
          cd "Library/Application Support/CrossOver Games/Bottles" 
     The quotes are necessary because of the spaces in the file names.
4- navigate one window to your <new bottle>/drive_c/Program Files
          cd "<new bottle>/drive_c/Program Files"
5- navigate the other window to your <old bottle>/drive_c/Program Files
          cd "<old bottle>/drive_c/Program Files"
in the <old bottle> Terminal window, the "ls -1" command will list a directory "Turbine"
6- use the move command (mv) from the <old bottle> to the new.
          mv   Turbine  "../../../<new bottle>/drive_c/Program files"
7- launch CXG
8-  use the pulldown "Configure" - select "Clear and rebuild program menu..."
9- use the pulldown "Programs" - select "PyLotRO" "PyLotRO(<new bottle>)
10- Follow instructions below to configure PyLotRO

Configure PyLotRO
A) use the PyLotRO pulldown "Tools" select "Setings Wizard"
        B) The game name "Lord of the Rings Online" should be filled in  -- click "find games"
        C) in list which fills in... select the game directory -- click -- apply
        D) PyLotRO should fill in the Realm and Language windows (activate the pulldowns and select as appropriate)
        E) click remember these settings
        F) use the "Tools" pulldown again, select - "Patch" then click "Start"
               PyLotRO will contact the Turbine patch servers -  Connecting to patch.lotro.com:80
               PyLotRO will then either retrieve patches and patch, or quickly make several checks before replying
                             *** Finished ***
             Click "Exit"
        G) enter your Account name and password; Click "Login"
        H) play the game
