If you get the MT4 installer hanging on 1190736044.english right at the end of the install then retry the install with IE6 installed in the bottle. This and the Visual C++ 6 redistributable (to provide mfc42.dll in an easier to manage way than winetricks) should get you up and running with minimal fuss (tested on 8.0.3).
