NeoTokyo Tips

C4P Notes -- CXG 9.1

The NeoTokyo Client Update Patch is available for installation via C4P on the following C4 page ;

    http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=8125

See  Sebastian's Tip&Trick at the top of this page -- the C++ runtime error is still apparent in Crossover Games 9.1

The only thing that worked consistently for me was to set hl2.exe to run using the win98 bottle profile -- to do this ;

Mac:

Configure menu -> Manage Bottles -> highlight the Steam bottle -> Control Panel tab -> select Wine Configuration -> Launch Selected Item

linux:

Start cxsetup (Manage Bottles) -> highlight the Steam bottle -> Control Panel tab -> select Wine Configuration -> Launch Selected Item

Wine configuration ;

In the Applications tab -> Apllication Settings panel, highlight the file  hl2.exe

Thereunder you will see   Windows Version: Use global settings   -- use this dropdown menu to select the  win98  profile.

Click on Apply -> OK to exit the Wine Configuration GUI    -- NeoTokyo should now run correctly and work 'as expected'.

Important Note :  Changing this setting will apply to -all- instances of the file   hl2.exe   in your Steam bottle. If you go to
play another mod based on HalfLife2 (or one of the HL2 episodes themselves) and something doesn't go right, it is likely
this setting is to blame, and you will need to revert the configuration for  hl2.exe  to  'Use Global settings'  again.

OSX/Mac : Using my iMac 11,2 w/ HD5670 this mod was crashing pretty much all the time at init/spawn time. I have as yet
been unable to find a resolve for this problem with such a setup and OSX 10.6.4  -- I have given it a technical Bronze medal,
however do note this was closer to Known Not To Work really, as I could not actually get into any gameplay before the R6025
runtime error is encountered. Neither pixel/vertex shader settings or screen size/resolution made any difference as per tips
above, however they might actually work with a nvidia chipset as cited.
