I don't know about previous or later versions, however, as of April 4th 2014, if you install NWN2 by means of the crosstie, it will, by default, disable "Performance Enhanced Graphics". Before noticing this I was getting 12-30 FPS on my system. With it enabled I'm getting over 120-250 FPS
So far I haven't found any graphical glitches that I can attribute too enabling this feature.
