Installing Quicken 2004 from the C4 menu will install DCOM95, Arial fonts, and Windows MSI. This basic install will allow Quicken to run but will not allow the Quicken Tour movies to play or online registration to work. The first time you start Quicken you'll be presented with a blank window that you must close. Re-starting Quicken will get to the actual program.
One-step Updates work with the basic install.
To enable the Tour movie and online registration you must install IE 6.0 and Windows Media Player.
When installing IE 6.0 make sure you choose Custom Installation and deselect Internet Connection Wizard.
Additionally, you should select Windows Media Player and codecs plus Macromedia Flash Player.
