Team Fortress 2 Tips

Enable facial animations in OS X 10.5.5+, CXGames 7.1.1

Note: This tip is known to work with the Leopard Graphics Update in 10.5.5. Other versions of OS X and CrossOver have not been reported to work with this.
  1. Goto Programs > Run Command... in CrossOver Games' menubar.
  2. Launch the Registry Editor by entering "regedit" into the dialog box.
  3. Follow the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\hl2.exe\Direct3D] tree.
  4. Goto Edit > New > String Value in the Registry Editor's menubar.
  5. Change the string's name to "useGLSL".
  6. Set the string's value to "enabled" (or anything other than disabled).
  7. Quit the Registry Editor by clicking on Registry > Exit in the Registry Editor's menubar.
Facial animations should now work. If it causes problems, simply re-launch the Registry Editor and delete the "useGLSL" string or set it to "disabled".

Note: Do not pass the "-dxlevel 90" under Team Fortress 2's launch options in Steam. Leave it set to CrossOver's default.
