We often craft a custom solution for each customer, and we will be happy to do the same for you. However, here is an outline of some basic steps.
The first step is often with you. You know your application better than we do, and are better able to judge how well (or not) it runs under CrossOver. That's why we provide our free evaluation copies of CrossOver — so you can quickly install and evaluate your software under our product. In many cases, though, you'll need a deeper evaluation of why something isn't working under CrossOver and what the costs of fixing that might be.
Whether we need to get a cranky application to install, or evaluate what/why/how much it will cost to port an application, we have a porting package that will meet you evaluation needs. If your software meets our basic porting criteria we move forward to porting your Windows software.
This is where the heavy lifting occurs; the hard work associated with making the application run under CrossOver in a commercially acceptable way.
Your software may change. Wine (and CrossOver) will change. Mac and Linux may change. Keeping your application running smoothly into the future requires planning and forethought. We work with our customers to create custom licensing and support solutions that will meet their ongoing product needs. For almost all service engagements, we like to start with an introductory phone conversation, in which we arrange to have both a sales representative and a technical person from CodeWeavers available.
