Full screen issues

Lately (since updating to CXG 10), I've noticed when I attempt to play full-screen games, whether I simulate a virtual desktop or allow the game to figure the resolution on its own, it will adjust accordingly, but will then glitch so that the bottom of the game window is not properly maxed with the monitor, leaving a black bar at the bottom. The sides and top, however, remain maxed to the window. This creates issues with gameplay. For instance, in Medieval Total War, map and button elements are hard to click, as the game window doesn't seem to realize the cursor is on the button (you have to move the cursor slightly above or below the button, for instance). Likewise, it creates navigation issues in games like Mount and Blade, because if you try to look too far down, your cursor hits the black box and the game appears to lose focus.

Has anyone had this issue or know of a solution? I should note all the games with this issue are Steam games. I have yet to see whether others have this issue.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have reported this a number of times (as have others) ; just to
confirm, iirc you're using a Mac right? It's true that you mostly
notice it with steamapps, but, I have a few non-steam titles that are
doing the same thing....

..now, I have been told the devs have been unable to recreate the problem,
so here's you & I others trying to prove the problem exists. I've tried
everything short of totally reinstalling OSX to fix it, which is what I
was going to try next, but seeing as 10.7 is not far away, I keep putting
a reinstall off...

Cheers!

Hi again,

Could you please supply your Mac's particulars?...ie; which model Mac,
what version of OSX, and which video chipset your machine has?

Cheers!

My apologies for the late reply, Don. I had almost forgotten I started this thread. My specs are as follows:

Late 2009(?) Aluminum Unibody Macbook
Mac OSX 10.6.8
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 1067MHz DDR3
Nvidia GeForce 9400M

If you need other specs to help pin this down, just let me know. I can confirm that all the games experiencing this issue were run via Steam, at least on my end.
