I am not able to use the 'native' Mac version of Ghost Recon due to the mods that I use when playing on the PC.
I tried VMWare Fusion but the frame rate is much too slow.
I'm hoping that Crossover Games will be able to run this old game. It's a DX8 game that will run like lightning on an Etch-A-Sketch, so I suspect it should do pretty well if it's set up correctly in Crossover.
I've installed the basic version of the game, however at this point it won't even launch.
Ideas?

Hard to say, but I find sometimes I can get games running by installing the DirectX Runtime into the bottle. You can do that from the install wizard. Usually this works by filling in the holes in our DX implementation.
If that does not work, you can try generating a log, and looking for key things like, "unable to load DLL", and try and see if we are simply missing a DLL the game needs.
