Difference between tickets and bugs?

In the games sections, there are tickets and bugs.

Tickets can be submitted at support=>ticket system i think, and some codeweavers ninja maybe assigns them later to the game directly if it only fits to it.
Is it the same with bugs?

Where is the difference between tickets and bugs?

Bye

Hi,

A support ticket could be anything - 'support' is a pretty wide ranging word,
and that support could be anything from getting help to get a program running,
or help with using Crossover products themselves. Software bugs are something
else again, and, to be called that means they have been identified (by someone)
as being a 'real' bug -- sometime problems with wine can be due to things other
than wine...ie; video driver bugs, kernel bugs...whatever.

Not all people can identify real bugs -- sometime the answer to a support ticket
could be that it is a known bug, or could be a bug. Some support tickets get added
to existing bugs, or get turned into bugs (moved from the ticket system to the bug
tracker) -- obviously a lot depends on the issue itself, and what the app's doing.

The Codeweavers Ninjas 'triage' all support tickets, and deal with each on it's
own merit, and ones that are bugs typically get marked as such. Bugs, around here,
are more difficult to pinpoint a lot of the time -- it could be a bug in the wine
core code, or it could be a bug introduced by Crossover patches, which is why a lot
of the time it's useful to know whether the behavior can be reproduced in wine pure
or not. Once an issue is a bug however, it's no longer the purview of the Ninjas
as such -- it's become fodder for the codeweavers/wine devs...Ninjas read tickets,
devs read bugs or such'n'similar.

Cheers!
