[solved] Can't Install Steam

RE-EDIT: Thanks to irc support, I was able to get this sorted. Turned out I needed to install lib32-nvidia-utils, I was running on lib32-libgl, which doesn't work with my nvidia card. Whoops.

EDIT: Originally I couldn't get the Steam install to run, but after deleting the Steam "bottle" and trying again it worked. I'm still having problems though. When I launch Steam, I get

"Fatal Error: Could not load module 'bin/vgui2.dll'"

I've verified that this file exists:

[mike@robots Desktop]$ locate vgui2
/home/mike/.cxgames/Steam/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/bin/vgui2.dll

And have deleted the .blob file per instructions in other threads.

For the reference ;

Cheers!

For anyone else that might use Arch, I'm the maintainer of the AUR PKGBUILD which will keep you up to date and take care of all the dependencies for you (and let you know of any extras you would probably be wanting such as lib32-nvidia-utils or lib32-catalyst-utils. It's one of the few crossover/wine PKGBUILDs that will work on 32 and 64 bit, thanks to our very own "Sam!".

I see that the maintainer of crossover-standard has used my code and then dropped the package so I may take that over and whip it in to shape also.

Crossover Games PKGBUILD in AUR.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for that...I ran into the issue with 'yawns' on IRC and eventually eeked
out that lib32-nvidia-utils hadn't been pulled in with ia32libs -- perhaps your link
should be included in the support library area?...

Cheers!

I would have no objection to it, though of course it's highly "unofficial", and I'm certainly no expert in making PKGBUILDs; it's purely something that I had a need for and implemented. I suppose it would be up to CodeWeavers as to whether it was something they wanted to be seen to be endorsing - it's not just a question of "supporting an "unsupported" distro installed from the .sh", but a slightly odd way of re-packaging their work.
