Regression for installing Divine Divinity in CXG 9.0 vs CXG 8.1.4

Hi all,

I upgraded to CX Games 9.0 and tried to install Divine Divinity. By using the "normal" way, selecting installer, creating a new bottle etc, setup.exe isn't even launched, CXG just seems to create the bottle and exit.

I tried to trick it by running Setup.exe in the newly created bottle with Run Command, it worked, but at some point the installer complains that access to C:\Program Files\Divine Divinity\Run\Localization\English\hints.txt is denied, and exits.
If I check, the file does exist and has no access rights issue. I noticed Localization and English had no capital L an E so I tried to change that but no luck.

I removed CXG 9.0 and tried again with 8.1.4: no hassle, everything went smoothly, setup.exe got launched and no complaint for access rights.

What did you select for the installer source when you tried to install it the normal way? Did you select (or allow CrossOver to auto-select) the CD/DVD? Or did you manually select the SETUP.EXE file?

If CrossOver is told to use the CD/DVD, it will usually run the AUTORUN.INF file, if there is one. That may be doing something odd. You can instead tell CrossOver to use a particular file and you can select SETUP.EXE from the CD/DVD. Maybe that will work better.

Hi,

No I installed from a manually selected setup.exe. The game is on 3 CDs and I wasn't sure it would switch CDs when needed, so I copied all to a folder and let CXG run setup.exe.
This method works for CXG 8.1.4.

Hey Alban,
I`m just curious as to your experiences with this game, as i plan to buy it this week. how well is it running for you?
