I just finished downloading Steam with Crossover Games for Mac, running OSX Tiger 10.4.11, with a steady wireless connection. My problem is that when I go to run Steam, and it asks me to login, it can't connect to the Steam Server.
Now, here's the thing -- I've heard Steam won't work with an HTTP proxy connection? But that's all that will work with the type of modem I'm using -- is there anything that I can do to make it work?
My research on how Steam connects has lead me to believe that steam had it's Proxy support removed because that's just how valve wanted it. Apparently there is nothing to do to stem to make it work except change how your network is set up...
What kind of modem/connect
or can you describe what kinda network setup you got there? maybe we can set it to work with steam.
